Forest Lake Says No to High Rise

11 June 2018

The local Forest Lake community came out in force on Saturday to send a clear message that the proposed 8 story development at 5 The Esplanade was not welcome.

Local Federal Member Milton Dick MP was joined by Councillor for Forest Lake Ward Charles Strunk, head of the Forest Lake Action Group Hamish Krammer and hundreds of locals to protest the planned development.

Today the local community has been loud and clear that the proposed development is not welcomed here said Mr Dick.

“This proposed development goes way beyond what is acceptable and our community just won’t stand for it.

“Families, young couples, seniors and pensioners are all united against this proposed development.

“I’ve already made my submission to the Brisbane City Council planning division outlining my strong objection the proposal and I encourage local residents to do the same.

“I commend the Forest Lake Action Group led by Hamish Kramer and local Councillor Charles Strunk for leading the fight against this development.

A online petition against the development already has over 1,000 signatures. Locals can add their voice to the petition here www.epetitions.brisbane.qld.gov.au/petition/view/pid/547 or by lodging their own submission here https://www.brisbane.qld.gov.au/planning-building/applying-post-approval/have-your-say-development-applications?utm_source=corphome&utm_medium=mega_nav&utm_term=-&utm_content=text-version&utm_campaign=mega_pb_aapa_have_your_say#what_applications_can_I_make_a_submission_on
