CENTENARY SUBURBS SENIORS MORNING TEA

Oxley MP Milton Dick and Labor’s Shadow Minister for Families and Social Services will today host the Centenary Suburbs Seniors Forum at the Jindalee Bowls Club.

Featuring representatives from Centrelink and the Queensland Police Service, the morning tea will be attended by almost 200 seniors and pensioners.

Ms Macklin will address the gathering of seniors followed by a discussion on changes to pensions and superannuation. Acting Senior Sergeant Darnielle Fioriti from the Queensland Police Service will also be on hand to give advice on keeping your home safe.

Local member Milton Dick MP said the forum would provide an important opportunity for seniors to be informed about incoming changes and how they are affected.

“With increasing changes facing pensioners and seniors it’s important that there is information readily available” said Mr Dick.

“I’m really pleased that representatives will be on hand to answer questions and offer practical tips and advice on how to stay safe at home and when people are out and about.

“I’m hoping to make this an annual event and run similar forums across the Oxley electorate.
