Local Sporting Champions - Round 4

The Local Sporting Champions program provides financial assistance for coaches, officials and competitors aged 12-18 participating in state, national or international championships.

If successful, applicants will receive $500-$750 towards the cost of attending their championships.

  • Base Grant: $500
  • Applicants travelling 800km - 1999km to their nominated championships: + $100
  • Applicants travelling internationally or greater than 2000km to their nominated championships: + $20
Applications close: 30 April 2024, 11.59pm AEDT
Notification of outcomes: From June 2024

 

 

Local Para Champions - Round 4

The Local Para Champions program provides financial assistance for coaches, officials and competitors aged 12-24 participating in state, national or international championships for athletes with a disability.

If successful, applicants will receive $750-$1000 towards the cost of attending their championships

  • Base Grant: $750
  • Applicants travelling 800km - 1999km to their nominated championships: + $100
  • Applicants travelling internationally or greater than 2000km to their nominated championships: + $200
  • Applicants residing in a rural electorate: + $50

Schools Upgrade Fund Round 2 – Government Schools

Round 2 will support government schools invest in larger-scale capital fund projects, such as new classrooms, building refurbishments, outdoor learning spaces or major upgrades and will be needs based, prioritising schools experiencing the greatest disadvantage.

Project funding will prioritise:
  • projects that support schools with a low Index of Community Socio-educational Advantage value
  • eligible projects for disadvantaged schools that have not received significant capital funding in the past two years (that is, projects valued at $250,000 or more in 2022 or 2023)
  • projects that support schools that cater to disadvantaged students, such as; special schools, special assistance schools or majority Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander schools.
Amount: Min $250,000

Organ and Tissue Authority Community Awareness Grants

The program seeks to encourage Australians to talk about donation, register as organ and tissue donors, and to let their families know they want to be a donor. Eligible activities must directly raise awareness about organ and tissue donation with CALD and multicultural Australians or directly host a DonateLife Week 2024 event.

Amount: $10,000 - $80,000

Arts Projects for Organisations

This program funds a range of activities that deliver benefits to the arts sector and wider public, including national and international audiences and communities. Organisations that undertake arts programs, projects, or that provide services to artists are welcome to apply.

 Amount: $20,000 - $100,000

This program funds a range of activities that deliver benefits to the arts sector and wider public, including national and international audiences and communities.

Sponsorship Grants for Student Science Engagement and International Competitions 2024

Organisations such as schools and community groups can apply for funding to sponsor a student or group of students to participate in STEM engagement events, activities and competitions that are hosted in-person or online, within Australia or overseas.
Amount: $1,500 - $15,000

Community Energy Upgrade Fund Program

The Australian Government is partnering with local governments to co-fund energy upgrades at existing local government facilities. It aims to help support local governments to:
Mmake their facilities more energy efficient
Lower their greenhouse emissions and energy bills.

Amount: $25,000 - $2.5 million

Professional Development and Paid Practicum Subsidy Program

This program will help support the skills and training of early childhood education and care educators, including  long day care, family day-care, in-home care, centre-based day care and outside school hours care services by expanding access to quality professional development.

Anzac Day Schools' Awards 2024
 
The Anzac Day Schools' Awards recognise the work of students, teachers and schools who engage with veterans and commemorate Australia's history. The theme for 2024 is Discover the Stories of Veterans in Your Local Community.

National Justice Reinvestment Program – Round 2

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Controlled organisations can apply for funding for initiatives that will reduce contact with the criminal justice system and incarceration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander adults and young people through support for place-based and community-led justice reinvestment initiatives across Australia.

The School Student Broadband Initiative

The School Student Broadband Initiative will provide up to 30,000 families with no internet at home free NBN for 12 months.


To be eligible, a family must:

  • Have a child living at home that is enrolled in an Australian school
  • Have no active broadband service over the NBN network
  • Live in a premise where they can access a standard NBN service
  • Not have had an active NBN service during the previous 14 days.

Key Queensland Government Grant Opportunities
 

Fair Play Vouchers Round 10

With round 9 now open, parents, carers or guardians can apply for a voucher valued up to $150 for their child, which can be used towards sport and active recreation membership, registration or participation fees.

The Gambling Community Benefit Fund is Queensland’s largest one-off community grants program and distributes approximately $60 million each year to not-for-profit community groups. The GCBF funding helps these groups to provide services, leisure activities and opportunities for Queensland communities.

Active Women and Girls Program

The $15 million Active Women and Girls Program aims to boost sport and active recreation opportunities for women and girls in Queensland.

The program is dedicated to encouraging greater participation across all facets of sport and active recreation, from playing to coaching and volunteering to umpiring and team management.

Key Private Sector Grant Opportunities

Transurban - Opening soon

They run a community grant round once a year and offer grants of up to $10,000 for projects bringing social, road safety and environmental benefits to communities in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane near Transurban's roads.

Grants are open to a wide range of organisations and initiatives and we encourage inclusion, diversity of thought and innovation.

Local Giving program

RACQ Local Giving gives community organisations the opportunity to apply for grants up to $500 through their local RACQ store.

Westfield Local Heroes

Nominations are now open for 2024! The successful Local Hero organisation for each Westfield Centre will receive a $20,000 grant for the organisation or group they represent, and each finalist receives a $5,000 grant for their organisation or group.

Mazda Foundation 

The Mazda Foundation's provide funding for community based organisation. Priorities include programs addressing literacy and numeracy issues amongst primary school aged children, especially remedial programs for children from disadvantaged areas.
